Museum Quality Archival Framing
What does archival framing mean? It means that there are no acids or harmful chemicals in any of the mat boards or backing materials that can over time damage a delicate painting, print, photograph or any other work of art. All tapes and adhesives used for mounting artwork are also free of harmful acids and chemicals. One of the most important aspects of archival framing is to use UV filtering glass that stops 99% of harmful UV light rays from damaging or fading the artwork. This only sounds expensive. Doing it right the first time will preserve your framed piece for a lifetime and beyond; and only costs about 20% more than using non-archival materials.
